George Carlin: Education Sucks!

George Carlin on why education sucks. I don't normally share things with this kind of language, but it is absolutely spot on. Every person in America should hear this piece!!

About Me

First, I was a daughter- a daughter raised by the morals, values, and salaries of two dedicated public school teachers. Then I became a student- a student educated in public schools, from kindergarten through my master's degree. Next I became a wife- the wife of one of the most inspiring middle school teachers a child could dream of. Now I am a mother. I am blessed to be the mother of four year old identical twin boys who just so happen to be exceptionally gifted. Sadly I have been slowly coming to realize that today's public schools are largely incapable of educating our sons and in my quest for knowledge I have quickly come to realize that America's public education system is becoming incapable of educating any child. Our schools are being taken over by corporate greed at the cost of our children's futures.

Now, I am also an advocate. I am a BAT. This blog is a collection of voices from the trenches- from teachers, parents, students, and those who truly understand what it means to educate a child. I want these voices together in one place, simple to search and learn from, so that we can share our voices with America. If you have a child, if you love a child, if you simply know a child- Please read, please learn, and please lend your voice. Together we can save our public schools and our children from the corporate take over of America's education system.

I encourage friendly discussion and debate. But please keep it friendly. We are all in this together and whether you agree with everything posted here or not- you are here because you care about education. Be a true role model with every word you speak. At the heart of this blog are my very own children and I will not tolerate name calling, insults, or hate speech of any kind in association with my sons and my passion for their education.
